.. Seoul ZOO day! [trip's - last blog post]
Located close to the science center we visited yesterday, the zoo is located in the Seoul Grand Park, at the foot of Cheonggye Mountain in the city of Gwacheon. Facilities at the Seoul Grand Park include : hills and hiking trails, the zoo, children's zoo, rose garden, amusement park, and the museum of modern art. We met Jon and Salli at our subway entrance for the trip on Line 4.
loading up on some treats with Dad before the adventure starts
We noticed hundreds of hiking groups getting off at the zoo stop to hike up the mountain. And, it appears, that a lot of Seoul likes to get out on weekends for fun excursions. Here's a view going to the park and zoo entrance:
At the zoo ticket entrance Salli & Jon paid for zoo tickets and a train and lift ticket for everyone. We got in a line to get on the animal themed bus train. Similar to Disney World it's a very efficient operation. It's quite a hike to get up to the zoo. A wise and energy saving investment! This picture was at the entrance to the zoo :

We had lunch at one of the food courts, a combination of Korean and American food. Then it was on to water buffalo, hyenas, goats, sea lions & otters, snakes, crocodiles, and monkeys. It was mid afternoon and time to start the trek down the mountain. It was time for an exciting skylift adventure! Here's a few pictures :

I was on the first lift car. Here's who's behind me :
What a fun adventure at the zoo! Now it's time to wind our way down the hill to the subway train station for the long ride home. Here's Jon & Margaret playing :
Back to the airbnb for a rest before another fantastic dinner with Salli's family. We took the bus, now having been in a taxi and on the subway, completing the triple ground transportation options. The restaurant is located in the Sinsa area of Seoul.
Salli's parents and grandma and grandpa and her great aunt and uncle joined us for a Korean barbecue dinner.
What fun we had visiting and enjoying delicious Korean food again ! The following pictures were from last night's date night.
Tomorrow, Jon & Salli pick me up and Matt & Jeanette & Cameron & Margaret travel on the bullet train to Busan on the southern Korea coast for five more days of their Korean adventure.
This is my last post of our .. Jon & Salli Korean Wedding Adventure. What a once in a lifetime trip. The wedding was super special. Dressed in traditional hanboks and witnessing a Korean age-old wedding tradition. And for Salli's and Jon's friends and family to witness this commitment ceremony will be forever remembered by them.
Thanks for following us on this adventure. Can you believe all of the different foods we ate and the sights we've seen ?
Long, long travel day tomorrow, Sunday.
I'm home a week and a half before I leave for Haiti with our church group. I'll try to squeeze in a few rounds of golf with Pablo, and help with the installation of some spot lights at church. I'll also be doing a blog for our Haiti trip.
Til then .. I'll post a few pics on Instagram. Take care.

Thanks for all the great posts, looks like a lot of fun and adventure. We enjoyed following along!
